LHD Reference Laboratory is accredited for the 4th consecutive term by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) – the global Gold Standard of medical laboratory accreditation. This prestigious recognition affirms that our laboratories consistently meet and exceed the rigorous scientific standards required to maintain the highest levels of accuracy in test results, ultimately ensuring precise and reliable patient diagnosis.

The CAP accreditation encompasses the entire spectrum of laboratory tests and is based on a scientifically rigorous checklist of approximately 3,000 requirements, which are reviewed and updated annually to reflect the latest advancements and standards in laboratory medicine.

In addition, LHD is proud to be the first hospital laboratory in Sri Lanka to be granted ISO 15189 laboratory accreditation by the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board, further reinforcing our position as a leader in quality and competence in laboratory services.

College of American Pathologists (CAP)

The Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB), as the National Accreditation Authority of Sri Lanka, is responsible for promoting accreditation activities and providing essential accreditation services across various sectors. In terms of hospital accreditations, Lanka Hospitals Laboratories proudly stands as the leading hospital in Sri Lanka to be awarded this prestigious award, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the highest standards in healthcare services.
