Accreditations

  1. LHD is the first hospital laboratory to receive ISO 15189:2007 accreditation in the country. LHD has adapted the latest ISO 15189:2012 accreditation in February 2016.

  2. LHD is the only hospital laboratory to undergo the College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation in the country. CAP accreditation is considered as the gold standard for medical laboratories globally. LHD has been undergoing the CAP proficiency testing program since January 2015. LHD will face the final CAP audit in March 2017.
 
Accreditation by College of American Pathologists (CAP)

LHD laboratory was recognized by the The College of American Pathologists (CAP), Laboratory Accreditation Program which is the Gold Standard in laboratory accreditation in the world. It accredits the entire spectrum of laboratory tests with a scientifically rigorous checklist of requirements. The checklists consist of approximately 3000 requirements and are revised annually. These include performance and monitoring of general quality control (QC), test methodologies and specifications, reagents, control and media, equipment, specimen handling, test reporting and external proficiency testing. In addition, requirements related to personnel, safety, investigations of complaints, document management and other administrative practices are also inspected.
